Beiqing: Many national team feeder clubs have advanced to the FA Cup, forcing a postponement of the national team’s training for the strong matches

According to the Beijing Youth Daily, due to the fact that many “national team feeder clubs” like Shanghai SIPG, Shanghai Shenhua, Shandong Taishan, and Beijing Guoan have all advanced to the FA Cup quarterfinals, and the quarterfinals will be held on August 21st and 22nd, the national team has had to postpone the start of its training camp, with the earliest possible date being August 23rd.

Beiqing: Many national team feeder clubs have advanced to the FA Cup, forcing a postponement of the national team’s training for the strong matches

The Chinese men’s national team will play the first round of the 18th round of qualifying matches against Japan on September 5th and the second round against Saudi Arabia on September 10th. According to the original plan, the national team would start a new training camp on August 18th. To this end, they will reschedule the originally planned Chinese Super League Round 24 on August 24th/25th to July, leaving more time for training to prepare adequately for the 18th round of qualifying matches.

However, a conflict has now arisen in terms of timing. Previously, Shanghai SIPG, Shanghai Shenhua, Shandong Taishan, and Beijing Guoan, all strong teams in the Chinese Super League, have all advanced to the FA Cup quarterfinals. This means that most national team players will have to play in the FA Cup quarterfinals on August 21st and 22nd.

As the FA Cup winner this season will automatically receive a spot in the Asian Champions League Elite Competition next season, the clubs mentioned above all attach great importance to the cup competition and will all arrange for their full main squad, including national team players, to play. Under these circumstances, the national team will also respect the competitive interests of the clubs and will not call up national team players during the FA Cup matches.

It is understood that after communicating with the national team coaching team, the Chinese Football Association has decided to postpone the new training camp for the 18th round of qualifying matches until after the FA Cup matches, meaning that it will not start until August 23rd at the earliest.
