Verón: Club World Cup expansion will benefit South American football

Recently, Argentinian legend Juan Sebastián Verón gave his opinion on the expansion of the Club World Cup in an interview.

Verón said: “I think the expansion of the Club World Cup is important for South American teams, because they have more opportunities to play against European teams. It is a good attempt, so I think it can help South American football grow, or rather push it to make greater progress.”

The plan is to expand the Club World Cup to 32 teams, which will be held every four years like the World Cup. European teams will occupy 12 spots, while South America will have 6 teams participating.
