According to The Athletic, former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is expected to announce his next club in the coming days, with a move to Major League Soccer across the Atlantic being the most likely option. He could also choose to join the Saudi Pro League or another European club outside of the Premier League.
The 33-year-old has been without a club since leaving Manchester United last summer, but there are indications that he will be returning to professional football soon.
The Athletic reports that de Gea’s top priority is to join an MLS club, preferably on the West Coast of the United States (including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, etc.).
Furthermore, de Gea could also choose to continue playing in Europe, but he won’t join any other Premier League teams besides Manchester United. Therefore, his chances of returning to English football are slim at this point.
Previous reports have also indicated that de Gea has received offers from Italian and Saudi clubs, which are also potential options for his future.
