Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo reports that if this transfer comes to fruition, Real Madrid, Kubo’s former club, will also receive a significant sum of money.

Kubo joined Real Sociedad from Real Madrid in 2022 for €6.5 million, but Madrid retained 50% ownership of the player. Therefore, if Liverpool buy Kubo’s contract for €65 million as reported, Real Madrid will receive approximately €27 million.

However, at this time, only Japanese media have reported on Kubo’s transfer. Major English media outlets, including renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, have yet to follow up on the news.
