Ultimately, Zhang Yufei won the bronze medal with a time of 2:05.09.

After the competition, Zhang Yufei tearfully admitted in an interview, “I just recovered from a fever yesterday, and today, on the first day of my period, the whole right side of my body was numb. I didn’t expect to swim this fast, even my warm-up wasn’t like usual. To put it bluntly, I was going to ‘die’ in the pool!”

“I didn’t think I could swim that fast, because I was numb before entering the water, and my warm-up was not like usual. I only swam 1000 meters and then got out of the water.”
