Rosario Central has officially announced that 68-year-old Argentine manager Miguel Ángel Russo has resigned.
“I want to thank all the fans for their passion. With a heavy heart, I believe it’s time for me to step down. I think this is best for the club. I want to thank my players and all the club staff for their efforts.” Miguel Ángel Russo said in his resignation speech.
The renowned Argentine manager Russo has coached Universidad de Chile, Boca Juniors, Estudiantes de La Plata, San Lorenzo, Millonarios, and Al-Nassr, among others. In January last year, he returned to Rosario Central for the fifth time. He led Millonarios to two Colombian championships, Boca Juniors to one Copa Argentina championship and one Copa Libertadores championship, and Rosario to the Copa Argentina championship last season.
