The Sun reports that former Manchester United and Chelsea star Radamel Falcao’s family has been hospitalized after suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. As a result, Falcao has been forced to miss his team’s upcoming Colombian league match.
Those affected by the poisoning include Falcao’s wife, five children and in-laws. Falcao’s wife, Lorelei Tarón, explained that the incident occurred when she turned on the water heater, leading to a gas leak. She and her family began to feel dizzy and unwell. Their children (five children, Dominique, Desiree, Annette, Jehdeiah and Haven) quickly became affected and noticed a strong odor filling the house.
Lorelei said: “It was really terrifying! Thank you for all the blessings, thank God we are fine. We turned on the water heater and we were all poisoned by carbon monoxide, I was downstairs with Jehdeiah and my father, as time passed I felt dizzy, I thought it was something else. Then Jehdeiah and my father went upstairs to look for the girls and my mother, I picked up Jehdeiah and sat him in the girls’ room, he fell asleep, I thought it was strange, but soon I also felt sleepy and fell asleep. Thankfully the lady who helps us with the housework started shouting and told us to get out… At that moment, Annette was crying, Jehdeiah was asleep, I felt like the world was upside down!”
Fortunately, Falcao’s family were rushed to the hospital and are currently out of danger. Falcao said: “Yesterday there was an accident at my house, my wife, in-laws and 5 children were hospitalized. Due to this situation, I will not be able to accompany the team to the upcoming game, I wish my teammates, fans and citizens all the best, and hope it’s a great game. I also want to sincerely thank the clinic for providing excellent care to my family during their stay, thanks for your understanding and support!”
Falcao, 38, has played for River Plate, Porto, Atletico Madrid, Monaco, Manchester United, Chelsea and currently plays for Colombian club Millionarios.
