On August 2nd, it was officially announced that Jovanovic has been appointed as the head coach of the Greek national team.
Jovanovic previously coached Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos, leading them to the Greek Cup title in the 2021/22 season and finishing as runners-up in the league in the 2022/23 season.
Additionally, Jovanovic also coached the United Arab Emirates national team, although he never managed to lead the team in a single match due to the pandemic.
