After a lackluster season, Tigres UANL manager, Siboldi, was dismissed from his position. After a period of silence, he publicly released a lengthy statement criticizing the club.
In the statement, Siboldi stated, “Due to the confidentiality required during mediation, I can only speak about the true reasons for my dismissal today. The club suspected my coaching staff of selling the team’s tactical arrangements and then used my anger to implicate me. When the media was heavily criticizing me, the club did not come to my defense, and ultimately I was forced to resign. In general, the club lacked compassion, and this was a blatant defamation against me.”
Tigres UANL denied Siboldi’s claims, releasing a statement clarifying, “In June of this year, the club lost confidence in Siboldi and his coaching staff, subsequently dismissing them. Over the past period, Siboldi has been seeking compensation from the club, while also demanding an apology. However, his demands were unreasonable.”
“Furthermore, the other claims he made are fabrications. No one is above the rules of football and the law. We would never allow the media to spread these rumors, it is our principle, and we will not respond further to these allegations.”
