Transfermarkt Highlights Top 10 European “Black Shops” of the Last Decade: Benfica Leads the Way

This week, 19-year-old Benfica star João Neves joined Paris Saint-Germain for around €60 million. This marks that over the past 10 years, Benfica’s sale revenue has reached a staggering €743 million. Transfermarkt has compiled the top 10 “black shops” in Europe over these 10 years, based on the highest sales revenue.

Benfica ranks first, with sales reaching €743 million over the decade. Neves’ price only ranks sixth, with the top five being: €127 million for Félix, €121 million for Enzo, €85 million for Núñez, €71.6 million for Rúben Dias, and €65 million for Gonçalo Ramos.

Second is Ajax with €483 million. Third is Salzburg with €463 million. Lille, a French team, ranks fourth with sales of €380 million, and Sporting CP follows in fifth with €369 million in sales revenue.

From sixth to tenth, we have: FC Porto from the Portuguese League with €358 million. AS Monaco from Ligue 1 with €288 million. Braga from the Portuguese League with €236 million. PSV Eindhoven from the Eredivisie with €231 million. Finally, Dinamo Zagreb from Croatia with €231 million.

Out of the top ten teams, the Portuguese League claims four spots, demonstrating its successful management. Ligue 1 occupies two spots, the Eredivisie also has two, and the other leagues take up the remaining two.
