The Independent reports that a black woman has been charged with using the “N-word” in a tweet against another black woman in a discussion about Newcastle United player, Isak, on social media.
The “Code for Crown Prosecutors” states that “prosecution is more likely if the offence is motivated by hostility based on the victim’s actual or perceived race or ethnicity, gender, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation or gender identity; or where the suspect targeted or exploited the victim based on any of those characteristics, or showed hostility towards the victim based on any of those characteristics”.
