On August 15th, Spanish journalist Mercado reported that Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are on the verge of completing two separate transfers involving Joao Felix and Conor Gallagher.
Reports suggest Chelsea will sign Felix for €55 million (€50 million + €5 million), while Atletico Madrid will acquire Gallagher for €42 million. These deals are reportedly close to completion.
Felix, currently 24 years old, was loaned to Chelsea by Atletico Madrid in January 2023. During his half-season at Chelsea, he appeared in 20 matches, scoring 4 goals.
Gallagher, also 24, is a midfielder who came through the Chelsea youth system. In the previous season, he featured in 50 matches for Chelsea, starting 46 times, and registered 7 goals and 9 assists across all competitions. This summer, he was part of the England team that reached the European Championship final, unfortunately falling short of lifting the trophy. His current market value is €50 million.
