On the eve of the Saudi Super Cup final, Riyadh New Moon coach Jesus said that he did not include Abdulaziz Al-Hamid in the starting lineup for the final, not because of a possible transfer to Roma in Serie A.
At Friday’s press conference, Jesus explained that he chose Hamad Al-Yami to start because his technical characteristics were better suited to the team’s tactical arrangements for the final.
Regarding whether Malcolm would be able to play after joining training on Friday, Jesus said: “Malcolm is recovering well. He will participate in training, and if his condition allows, he will have the chance to play in the final. We look forward to his return, as he provides the team with diverse tactical options and has always been a key player for us.”
Jesus, who led the team to victory last year, is very excited to be in the final again and hopes the game will live up to expectations.
“Our opponents are strong, and this game is a testament to the progress of Saudi football, because both teams have high-level players,” he said.
“The final will undoubtedly be a great match, and we and Al-Nassr will showcase ourselves to the world, especially considering that the game will be broadcast in several countries. As the two participating teams, we have a responsibility to showcase the best of Saudi Arabian football.”
