According to multiple American reporters, sources have revealed that Mauricio Pochettino is set to become the new head coach of the US men’s national team.
Following their early exit in the Copa America group stage as hosts, the US men’s national team parted ways with former head coach B.J. Callaghan. The US Soccer Federation then initiated a coaching search and identified Pochettino as their top choice.
The 52-year-old Pochettino last managed Chelsea, where he helped the team find form in the latter half of the season but still departed at the end of last season and has remained without a club since.
It is worth noting that Matt Crocker, the current US Soccer Federation Technical Director, previously worked with Pochettino at Southampton and has long admired the Argentine manager.
