According to Japanese media personality Marco Molla, the AFC is currently considering a new rule for the Asian Elite League.
AFC-recommended clubs could be invited to participate in the Asian Elite League, regardless of their domestic league performance. This is intended to maintain the quality and revenue of the Asian Elite League, with one invite for East Asia and one for West Asia.
Under the current rules, each country has a maximum of three teams participating in the Asian Elite League, meaning one of the Saudi BIG4 would miss out on the Asian Elite League each year.
