According to the Beijing Youth Daily, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) has recently completed a new round of work division among its leadership team members. Xu Jiren, the association’s vice chairman previously responsible for refereeing, grassroots football, and press and publicity, has been confirmed to oversee the national team.
On August 21, the CFA, for the first time, unveiled the new team roster via an online livestream.
The Beijing Youth Daily stated that this release event received affirmation and support from multiple parties. In light of the fact that Chinese football, especially the men’s national team, has long been mired in low competitive levels, the team needs to not only strive to perform well in matches but also actively improve its public image.
From this perspective, Xu Jiren, who hails from a background as a seasoned and accomplished media professional, overseeing the national team will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the team’s sincere communication and interaction with fans, media, and other external stakeholders, fostering a healthier public opinion environment for the team.
