Ahead of the Saudi Super Cup final against Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr head coach Luis Castro said the final will be a tough test for his side.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Castro said he expects a very difficult game.
“Both teams have very good players and I hope this game will bring glory to Saudi football,” the Portuguese coach said.
Castro wants the referees to take control of the fiercely competitive game between two evenly matched sides. “Normally I don’t comment on the referee’s work as a coach, the most important thing for me is that the team performs well and wins,” he said.
“Football has always been a passionate sport, when you see 22 players on the field, you will find that everyone is eager to win, because they all have a strong desire to win. But I hope the referees will understand the complexity of the game, keep calm at crucial moments, and effectively control the pace of the game.”
Castro praised the strength of his opponents, describing it as an enjoyment to play against the strong team from the same city.
Castro noted: “We have played two finals against them before, the first we won the Arab Championship and the second we lost on penalties. I have always considered them a strong opponent, Al-Nassr and top clubs like them always show great strength in the finals, this game will be no different.”
