In August 2007, he joined Tian Sheng European Football Channel as a Premier League commentator. His relaxed, natural and insightful commentary style was deeply loved by fans.
Famous commentator Zhan Jun also paid tribute to Mr. Li Yuan Kui on social media and shared stories of working with him on Premier League commentary.
Zhan Jun wrote: “I remember clearly that after joining ESPN Star Sports in September 2001, my first commentary match was a replay of Manchester United vs Ipswich, with Li Dao as my partner. I had just arrived in Singapore at that time, and I lived with Li Dao and Xi Rong. Before the recording, I asked Li Dao how we should cooperate. He said: “I’ve heard you talk about football. Just keep doing what you did before.” This season, Ipswich returned to the Premier League for the first time in 22 years, and Li Dao has been gone for three years. I hope you are doing well over there…………”
