The French Football Federation has officially announced that, following discussions, Thierry Henry has decided to resign as the head coach of the Olympic team. In the coming days, the FFF will officially begin the process of appointing a new coach.
Regarding his resignation, Henry said: “Thank you to the French Football Federation and its president, Diallo, for giving me this incredible opportunity. Helping my country win a silver medal at the Olympics is one of the proudest moments of my life. Thank you to everyone for allowing me to experience such a wonderful journey.”
Henry was appointed as the head coach of the French Olympic team last summer. During the Paris Olympics, he led the team to the final, but they were defeated by Spain in extra time, ultimately winning the silver medal.
