The AFC Marketing Committee’s second meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday, celebrated the new era of AFC club competitions, unveiling the latest brand, anthem, and trophies.
“The AFC is on the cusp of a new era for Asian club competitions. This revamp is a significant milestone in our history, and building a visually-stunning and vibrant brand to expand and elevate our football presence globally is a key component of this journey. Our long-term success will depend heavily on our ability to develop brands that not only meet our world-class aspirations, but also solidify the connection between Asia’s passionate fans and the revamped club competitions,” said Chairman Dasho Ugen Tsechup.
“We have already unveiled four new brands and the dazzling new AFC Women’s Club Championship trophy, all of which have been received with tremendous enthusiasm, and I am confident that the trophies and anthem revealed later today and in the coming days will build upon our strong foundation for even greater success in the years to come,” added Chairman Dasho Ugen Tsechup.
Meanwhile, committee members were delighted to note the far-reaching impact of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, which became the most widely reported and engaged edition of the tournament in history. Viewership for the opening ceremony of the 18th edition of Asia’s premier competition grew by over 400%, reaching 187 territories and nations, with a staggering 263% increase in broadcast hours, generating a cumulative audience reach of 501.5 million and a total reach of 22.
