On July 2nd, two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray announced that he would be withdrawing from his first-round Wimbledon singles match against Czech player Jiri Lehecka due to physical reasons. He will instead play doubles with his brother Jamie Murray.
Murray previously stated: “I don’t have back pain but the nature of the problem is I have a massive cyst that’s impinging on my nerve and causing me to lose a lot of control in my right leg. It’s getting better…Hopefully, it’s going to be enough to allow me to play on Tuesday.”
