It is reported that this trip to Korea for friendly matches is part of a warm-up plan developed by the Chinese and Korean Football Associations based on an agreement, aimed at strengthening the international competitiveness of youth players and promoting cultural exchange. This Korean 2009 national youth team has played against Japan three times, with a record of 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss. In April, they also participated in the Italian Cup, achieving a record of 2 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss, including a 2-1 victory over Italy. Although only nine players from this team participated in the Italian Cup, their overall strength is still formidable. Their coach is Kim Hyeon-jun of the Korean Football Association.

Two days after arriving in Korea, the U15 National Youth Team played their first friendly match against the Korean U15 National Youth Team. The match was divided into three periods, each lasting 30 minutes. The Chinese team initially dominated the game, but the Korean U15 team subsequently brought on their key players, creating multiple scoring opportunities. They eventually scored the only goal in the 45th minute. The Chinese team’s formation faltered under pressure from the Korean side, and they missed a golden chance to equalize before the final whistle. Afterward, the two teams participated in a series of “joint activities,” including joint training.

On the morning of the 11th, the Chinese team’s main squad played another friendly match against the Korean national youth team. The match was divided into two periods, each lasting 40 minutes. Compared to the first game, the Korean team fielded more key players, and the Chinese team trailed 0-1 in the first period. However, the Chinese team simplified their play style and scored four goals between the 57th and 74th minutes, turning the game around. The goalscorers were He Sifan, Wan Xiang, Liang Shiyu, and Kuang Zhaolei. Wan Xiang almost made it 5-1 before the end of the match. The U15 National Youth Team achieved a resounding victory against their strong opponent.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Chinese team’s reserve players played a friendly match against Muan Industrial High School U18 team. Thanks to Wang Xiuhuao’s brace and Huang Zijie’s goal, the Chinese team won 3-1. This marked the end of the Korean training camp for the Chinese team, with a record of 2 wins and 1 loss in three friendly matches. They concluded their training on the 12th. Before heading to Korea for the training camp, the U15 National Youth Team’s head coach, Fujiwara Satoshi, mentioned the Football Association’s overseas training plans in an interview with this newspaper. He pointed out that Japan and Korea, who are at a higher level, also rely on matches against high-level foreign opponents to improve their own skills. “This kind of training camp is of great significance to our growth.” After this Korean training camp, the U15 National Youth Team will follow the example of the U16 National Youth Team, gradually shifting the location of future training camps to Europe. Two European training camps will be held this year, with opponents including club youth teams and corresponding national youth teams. Next year, they will participate in the Dream of the Bundesliga project.
