According to The Sun, Marcus Rashford has decided to stay at Manchester United, hoping to repair his relationship with manager Erik ten Hag and salvage his career at the Red Devils.
Rashford’s performance last season was quite poor, and he was twice photographed by the media going to nightclubs at inappropriate times, for which he was fined two weeks’ wages by the club – £700,000.
A source revealed that Rashford was surprised by his exclusion from England’s 33-man preliminary squad, but the incident also made him determined to find his form and prove himself again.
The source said: “Because of his struggles last season, Rashford knew he might miss out on the European Championship squad, but he didn’t expect to be left out of the 33-man preliminary list. He felt that his credit with Southgate hadn’t been completely squandered yet.”
“One thing Rashford is certain about is that ten Hag has a lot of faith in him. He knows he underperformed at crucial moments last season, but he has told his friends that he will return next season in much better form. He knows that Manchester United might appoint a new manager, and he could be shown the door, but he doesn’t want to leave. He just wants to get back to his best at Manchester United.”
