Journalist: Man Utd willing to sell Wan-Bissaka for £10m, will then go for Mazraoui if the deal goes through

According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, West Ham are in talks with Manchester United over a deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, after their move for Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui fell through. Man Utd are willing to sell Wan-Bissaka for a fee starting at £10 million.

Plettenberg explains: West Ham are looking to strengthen their right-back position. They agreed a fee with Bayern Munich for Mazraoui (€15.5 million plus €4 million in add-ons) in recent days. However, the Premier League side faced resistance in negotiations with the Moroccan international over personal terms. Mazraoui was not keen on joining West Ham, which resulted in the negotiations failing. Mazraoui wants to delay his decision, which has angered West Ham. Currently, the deal has been canceled.

On the other hand, West Ham have turned their attention to Wan-Bissaka and will start negotiations with Man Utd again. The Red Devils have also shown a positive attitude and are willing to lower their asking price for Wan-Bissaka. A fee of £10 million with add-ons could be enough to secure the deal. Sky Sports Germany believes that the two parties will hold talks over the deal details in the next 48 hours.

The 26-year-old Wan-Bissaka has 173 Premier League appearances to his name, scoring 2 goals and providing 13 assists. Last season he made 22 Premier League appearances for Man Utd, as well as 3 Champions League appearances, 4 FA Cup appearances and 1 League Cup appearance, registering 3 assists. Sky Sports Germany believes that if Man Utd manage to sell Wan-Bissaka, they will make a move for Mazraoui as a replacement. Sources in Munich even suggest that Mazraoui’s failure to agree personal terms with West Ham despite Bayern’s permission may be due to the fact that he was waiting for a call from Man Utd.
