Belgian media outlet Het Nieuwsblad reports that Anderlecht are keen on Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen.
Manchester United are planning to strengthen their midfield this summer in order to replace the ageing Casemiro and Eriksen. Eriksen is contracted to Manchester United for another year and if the player wants to leave, Ten Hag is unlikely to hold him back. For Eriksen, staying at Manchester United this season will likely see him with limited opportunities as the rising young midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has gained Ten Hag’s trust.
Eriksen has close ties to a number of people at Anderlecht, which could help facilitate a deal if the Belgian club decide to act in this transfer window. It is understood that Anderlecht manager Brian Riemer has a good relationship with Eriksen, having previously worked together at Brentford when Riemer was assistant coach. Anderlecht also have Eriksen’s former Tottenham and Ajax teammate Jan Vertonghen in their ranks.
Manchester United are hoping to receive a transfer fee for Eriksen. It remains to be seen what offer Anderlecht can put on the table for the Dane.
