July 22 – According to a recent report from the British media outlet, The Mirror, Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is currently on the shortlist for the England national team job. It is understood that Howe is currently hesitant about whether to stay at the club.
The media outlet claims that Newcastle United’s top brass hope to get a response from Howe as soon as possible, and if he decides to leave, they could consider bringing in Mauricio Pochettino as his replacement.
Howe is currently enjoying his time at Newcastle United, but two of his old acquaintances in the club’s management have recently sold their shares and left the club.
Paul Mitchell was recently appointed as Newcastle United’s sporting director, and he has worked with Pochettino in the past as the recruitment chief at Southampton. The two then worked together again at Tottenham Hotspur, and this could potentially be a third time working together for the pair.
