Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed Kevin De Bruyne will not be leaving the club for Saudi Arabia this summer, while also insisting the Premier League champions are not planning to make a raft of signings in the window.
Guardiola said: “Kevin is not going to leave. If someone wants to leave we will discuss it. Of course, until the last day we have the chance to do some movements. I don’t exclude signing new players, but I think we have between 85-90% chance of keeping the same squad.”
“I feel very comfortable because the quality of the players we have is difficult to replace, and they are there. But we will see, I don’t know if at the last moment someone will come for some players and they leave, we will decide.”
“Rodri as a Ballon d’Or contender? I cannot deny how happy he is. For him to be in the Ballon d’Or conversation is something remarkable, for his family, friends, and of course for Manchester City. We are so proud.”
