There have been rumors that the Premier League is planning to hold some matches in the United States in the future, with several league officials, including Liverpool chairman Tom Werner, expressing their support for the idea. However, Bournemouth’s American owner Bill Foley has clearly opposed the proposal.
In a recent interview with the BBC, Bill Foley said: “I believe what we’re doing now, [playing pre-season games in the US], is what we should be doing.
But should we have Premier League games in America? [I think] we should be playing in the UK, we need to respect the whole system. If you talk to the Bournemouth fans, they’ll tell you you have to respect our system and traditions.”
