Ten Hag: Man United a long way from trophies, Sancho to stay and perform

Ralf Rangnick was “absolutely right” when he said the club needed a “heart bypass” operation. “Rangnick was absolutely right. We have been working on that for two years, but he was absolutely correct: it’s a thorough, very complex operation. I knew when I started that it would be a tough job.”

“We want this club back to where it was a decade ago, a club that wins the Premier League, that can win the Champions League. I think we are a long way from that.”

Ten Hag stated he hopes Sancho can fulfill his talent and potential at United next season. “We had a good conversation. Everyone can make mistakes. If players can reflect well, then draw a line under it and continue playing. This club needs good players and one thing is for sure: Jadon Sancho is a very good player. I hope in the end we can get on the same page and he can contribute to our success.”
