Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard recently spoke to the media about his move to the club, stating that Arsenal decided to sign him after Chelsea hijacked Mykhailo Mudryk.
Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton in the January 2023 transfer window. Previously, Arsenal had been keen to sign Mudryk, but Chelsea ultimately snapped up the Ukrainian forward for a total of €100 million (fixed €70 million + €30 million in add-ons).
Trossard said: “I don’t care what happened before, Arsenal were clear with me that they wanted me after they failed to sign Mudryk, and I was happy to accept.”
“I had a good conversation with Arteta, he showed me a clear plan, not only about what I could do on the pitch, but also what was expected off the pitch. I thought the atmosphere was great.”
Last season, Trossard made 46 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, scoring 17 goals.
