British media: Guardiola’s future at Man City is still uncertain, the team will likely play a lot of games next season

According to BBC chief football writer Simon Stone, Guardiola has said he could stay at Man City beyond the end of the next season.

The report said that after Man City’s historic quadruple win, Guardiola has been planning for his future, having previously said, “It is more likely that I will leave than stay.” However, the report believes that Guardiola’s future is still uncertain.

Data shows that the Spaniard has been in charge of Man City for eight seasons, winning the league title six times, and Guardiola has won 17 trophies in total in his managerial career.

Ahead of Man City’s pre-season friendly against AC Milan at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, Guardiola told reporters in New York, “Nothing is decided, I didn’t say I was leaving.”

Guardiola said, “It’s not easy being at the same club for nine years. I don’t rule out extending the contract. However, I want to make sure it’s the right decision for the club and the players. When I make the decision, I’ll talk to the CEO and the sporting director, and we’ll have to see how things go at the start of the new season.”

Additionally, the report said that Man City could play up to 75 games in the whole season, starting with the Community Shield against Manchester United at Wembley on August 10 and ending with the Club World Cup final in the United States on July 13. The Citizens will face a big challenge in the new season.
