Transfer expert Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider has revealed that Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is not keen on another loan move and is instead hoping for a permanent transfer.
It is understood that City are now willing to let the 28-year-old England international go for a fee of £20 million. Phillips joined City from Leeds United for £42 million two years ago, but has made just 31 appearances for the club in the past two seasons, starting only 14 times.
In the second half of last season, Phillips joined West Ham United on loan but failed to secure regular playing time, making 10 appearances, only 3 of which were starts, and failing to impress.
Phillips believes a permanent move would be the best option for all parties involved, as it would give him the chance to settle and have time to show his abilities at a new club. However, given the financial difficulties faced by Villa and Everton in recent months, they are more likely to consider loaning Phillips than buying him outright.
