Georgensson could be leaving Lillestrøm after just six months. Manchester United want him to take on the role of assistant coach and the two parties are currently in talks.
Earlier on Thursday, several different sources in Norway and Sweden told Nettavisen that the Swede is expected to leave Åråsen. For Manchester United, all they need to do is redeem the buy-out clause already agreed in Georgensson’s contract and he can join the Premier League club.
Some sources say that this should be around 4 million Norwegian kroner and some paperwork needs to be done before everything is in place. If all the details go as planned by all parties, Georgensson could make the move to Manchester United by the weekend.
Georgensson has previously worked as an assistant at Brentford, Arsenal and Southampton, focusing on set pieces.
