According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Everton midfielder Amadou Onana will undergo a medical today, with the transfer to Aston Villa expected to be completed tomorrow.
Romano revealed that Villa will pay Everton a fixed transfer fee of £50 million for Onana, with additional add-ons and a sell-on clause as requested by the Toffees.
The 22-year-old Amadou Onana plays as a defensive midfielder and holds both Belgian and Senegalese nationality. He honed his skills in the youth academies of Anderlecht, Hoffenheim, and others, making his professional debut at Hamburg in 2020. In the summer of 2022, Onana joined Everton from Lille, making 72 appearances for the Toffees, contributing 4 goals and 3 assists.
On the international stage, Onana made his debut for the Belgian national team in June 2022. He has earned 17 caps and started and played all four matches in the European Championship in Germany this summer.
