Chelsea Legend: Enzo Has No Future at the Club, Blues Should Consider Selling Him

Former Chelsea star Tony Cascarino recently commented that Argentine international Enzo Fernandez has no future at the club following a discriminatory incident.

The controversy stemmed from Enzo’s live stream exposing Argentine players singing discriminatory chants against France, which sparked widespread criticism and condemnation on social media, with multiple Chelsea players unfollowing him.

Cascarino believes Fernandez’s actions could lead to his departure from Chelsea, particularly given the tense atmosphere within the club.

Reports indicate that Chelsea players not only unfollowed him but Wesley Fofana publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with Enzo. Cascarino stated: “It’s a very difficult situation to handle. I think Chelsea have to make a big decision, whether they really want to keep Enzo Fernandez. If you’ve got players that are unhappy with one person in the dressing room, I’m not sure how many people can accept what has happened.”

While Enzo later apologized for his misconduct, Cascarino believes the apology may not be enough to mend the rift between him and his teammates and the club, especially considering Chelsea’s roster boasts several French internationals who may find it hard to forgive him.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Cascarino argued that Chelsea should consider selling him to maintain harmony within the team, even though they broke the transfer record by paying £105 million for Enzo.

Cascarino stressed that divisions within the dressing room can negatively affect the team’s overall performance. He pointed out that while not all players need to like each other, the discord created over such a sensitive issue may not be easily resolved.

Finally, Cascarino suggests that Enzo should make a formal face-to-face apology to the entire team as a step towards rebuilding trust, but it’s not guaranteed to completely quell the controversy.
