Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson has said that he believes the key figure for the Red Devils’ new season and competition with other top teams is not manager Erik ten Hag or any player in the squad, but Ruud van Nistelrooy, who returned to Old Trafford this summer.
Speaking about the former striker who was his teammate for two years at United, Kleberson said: “If I had to choose a key figure for Manchester United’s new season, I wouldn’t say a player, but a coach, Ruud van Nistelrooy.”
“He was an unbelievable player for Manchester United with an unparalleled hunger for success, and now, as a coach, he can use his experience to provide strong support to the players.”
“This Manchester United team needs to find the right balance and make their performances more consistent. Actually, they started last season quite well, but kept going up and down, sometimes losing at home and sometimes failing to hold onto their lead. These are all fatal problems because the competition for the top four in the Premier League is now extremely fierce.”
“There are too many top teams like Arsenal, and if Manchester United can’t achieve consistent performance, they will definitely not be able to compete for honours.”
