Arsenal have announced the signing of Italian defender Karlsson.
According to multiple reports, Arsenal paid Bologna up to €50 million for Karlsson, including add-ons. The deal also includes a sell-on clause.
The 22-year-old Karlsson is a center-back who came through the ranks at Roma. He previously played for Genoa and Basel. In the summer of 2023, Karlsson joined Bologna, making 33 appearances for the club in the 23/24 season, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists.
In June this year, Karlsson made his debut for the Italian national team. He then went on to start three times for Italy in the European Championship group stage in Germany, but missed the round of 16 due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
