BBC reports that Liverpool have rejected an £11.8m bid from Marseille for midfielder Wataru Endo.
The 31-year-old Japan international joined Liverpool from Stuttgart last August for around £16.2m on a four-year contract. He made 43 appearances in his first season at Anfield, including 20 Premier League starts, and won the League Cup.
Marseille are managed by Roberto De Zerbi, who had faced Endo while in charge of Brighton last season. Liverpool are also aware of interest in the defensive midfielder from other German clubs.
Liverpool have yet to sign any players this summer following the arrival of manager Jurgen Klopp.
