According to multiple Japanese media outlets today, the newly promoted Premier League side is interested in signing Celtic’s Japanese international captain Reo Hatate.
Hatate, who can play in multiple positions, joined Celtic from Kawasaki Frontale in the winter transfer window of 2022. He has since made 87 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals and providing 19 assists, helping the team win multiple trophies.
Hatate’s current contract with Celtic expires in the summer of 2028, but several teams have shown interest in signing the Japanese international this summer. It was reported earlier this month that Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg made an offer for him, which was rejected by Celtic. Leicester City have now joined the race to sign him, but the Foxes have yet to make a formal offer to Celtic.
