According to the Manchester Evening News, the injuries to Lenny Yoro and Rasmus Højlund will not change Manchester United’s plans for transfers in and out of the club during the transfer window.
Manchester United confirmed that newly signed young defender Yoro suffered a metatarsal fracture in last week’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal and will be out for three months. Meanwhile, Højlund will be sidelined for six weeks with a hamstring injury.
Apart from Yoro, Manchester United are also looking to sign two centre-backs, including Everton’s Ben Godfrey, whose bid was rejected twice, and Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, with whom a personal agreement has been reached.
Manchester United are trying to sell Victor Lindelof, whose contract expires next year. Plans to sell Scott McTominay will not change either, as he was not sold last year partly due to the four-month injury to Amad Diallo due to a fractured ankle.
When asked if recent injuries would accelerate Manchester United’s transfer plans, Erik ten Hag responded: “No, no. That’s not going to change who comes in and who leaves, that’s not going to change anything. We have a plan and we’re going to stick to it.”
