On July 31, Premier League legend Stuart Robson said that Julian Alvarez should leave Manchester City as he lacks influence on the game.
Robson believes Alvarez shouldn’t stay at City: “I think he should go, he’s a very good player and has won a lot of trophies. But I’m saying that Alvarez lacks influence on the game. Let’s say, City doesn’t have Haaland, would Alvarez be the man to lead City’s attack? Would he help City become the best team in the Premier League and even in Europe? I think the answer is no, I’ve never seen him have that ability. I’m disappointed in his performance.”
Robson then talked about Alvarez’s role at City being too marginal: “He’s a good player when he comes on as a substitute, or when the team is hit by injuries. But when Guardiola picks his strongest 11, Alvarez is definitely not in it.”
