Roy Keane has said that last season’s FA Cup win only buys Erik ten Hag some breathing space and that he needs to improve the team’s performance if he wants to keep his job.
Keane said: “The FA Cup win has bought him [Ten Hag] some breathing space, it has, but you can’t be finishing eighth in the league again next season.”
“Manchester United have to be competing for the top four, they are a long way off winning the Premier League at the moment, but you have to be as close as you can. And the performances in the league over the last 12 months have been terrible.”
