On August 2nd, Arsenal academy midfielder Smith Rowe officially joined Fulham, ending his 14-year career with the Gunners. Subsequently, he also took to his personal social media to express his farewell and gratitude to his beloved Arsenal.
Smith Rowe wrote:
To the Arsenal family
I’m not sure how to start this, this is the hardest letter I’ve ever had to write to you.
When I first signed for Arsenal, I was 10 years old, just a kid. I never thought I would go on to play over 100 times for Arsenal and wear the iconic number 10 shirt.
I have experienced so much here, met and played with the best people, left with countless great memories that I can’t pick out which one is the best.
There are too many people I need to thank, but I want to say thank you to every teammate over the years, thank you to every member of the coaching staff who has helped me, and especially thank you to every fan, you have made Arsenal my home for so long.
I’m now ready for a new challenge, I’m hungrier than ever, I need to give myself the opportunity to take the next step.
Finally, I want to thank the Arsenal family again, I will always be grateful to you.
