Former Three Lions star Raheem Sterling spoke to BBC Sport recently, saying he misses playing for his country and that it’s one of the best feelings he’s ever had.
Asked whether he missed playing for England, Sterling said: “Of course, I love playing for England, that’s one of the best feelings you can have. Watching them brings me joy, honestly, I only watch England games. I look forward to returning to the national team one day.”
He then spoke about new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino: “He will get the best out of me, and I believe he can unlock the team’s potential. He has already started his changes, bringing his vision into the team. Yes, the pre-season results have not been perfect, but the team is starting to get on the ball, the right messages are being delivered, and you can see the pattern.”
Finally, he touched on the upcoming Premier League season: “It’s too early to judge. It’s a learning process, we’re quickly getting the hang of it. The Premier League is around the corner, and I think good days are ahead of us.”
