Tottenham forward Richarlison has revealed in an interview with ESPN that he is not interested in a move to Saudi Arabia and wants to remain in the Premier League. The Brazilian’s decision could jeopardize Spurs’ efforts to sign Dominic Solanke.
“The offers from Saudi are big, but my dream is even bigger,” said Richarlison. “We have received offers, but the idea of staying in the Premier League and making the Brazil squad is bigger. My mind is set.”
According to talkSPORT, Tottenham had been pushing for a £60 million move for Richarlison to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Nassr as the interested party. The sale was expected to allow the North London club to launch a full-fledged assault on Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke. Bournemouth have insisted on meeting Solanke’s £65 million release clause, not a penny less. However, Richarlison’s latest statement might derail Spurs’ plans.
Since joining Tottenham from Everton, Richarlison has underperformed significantly, struggling to fit into Ange Postecoglou’s system. He also suffered from severe mental health issues last season, which further hampered his on-field displays.
