On August 4th, according to TyC Sports, Liverpool are very interested in Julio Soler, the starting left-back for Argentina’s Olympic team, and have already had initial contact with the player’s club, Lanús.
The 19-year-old Soler came through the youth academy at Argentinos Juniors before moving to Lanús, where he made his professional debut in the Argentine Primera División last year. Under manager Zilinski, Soler gradually developed into Lanús’ starting left-back, and in March last year he became a member of the Argentina U20 national team, representing the team at the U20 Copa América and World Cup.
After being called up by Mascherano, Soler impressed as the starting left-back for Argentina’s Olympic team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, starting all three group stage matches and coming on as a substitute in the game against France.
According to reports, Lanús are asking for a fee of $15 million for Soler, which represents a very affordable price for Liverpool.
