Manchester United lost 6-7 on penalties to Manchester City in the Community Shield final on the evening of August 10th. After the game, Roy Keane gave his take on the match.
Roy Keane said: “I’ll tell you what all the really good players do. The really, really good players influence the game, every time he’s on the football pitch he’s going to influence. Garnacho is that type of player, I’ve got high hopes for him now, he’s going to change things for Man United. You know he’s going to create something and have an impact. If you’re a defender, you don’t want to be marking him because he’s going to come at you and run past you.”
“Man United’s squad is strong, but the problem is they’ve had a lot of injuries. If they can keep most of the players fit, then I’m very optimistic for the start of the season. If you’re Ten Hag, you’ll be optimistic, there’s evidence to suggest that. But Man United are not strong enough yet, they need more energy and defending to avoid letting in goals in the last minute like they did today.”
