Experts: Everton’s dire financial situation intensifies, forcing them to consider fire sale of Branthwaite and Calvert-Lewin

On August 4th, according to an exclusive report by Bosun, a football insider for British publication, “Football Insider,” Everton, facing a cash flow crisis, will have to consider selling off valuable assets like Branthwaite and Calvert-Lewin to alleviate the pressure, even going as far as discounting their price tags.

Experts: Everton’s dire financial situation intensifies, forcing them to consider fire sale of Branthwaite and Calvert-Lewin

Everton’s owner, Farhad Moshiri, is still seeking a buyer for the club, but with little success. The Fredkin Group, who were once close to acquiring the club, have since withdrawn their bid. With August now upon us, Everton’s future remains uncertain, significantly increasing the likelihood of Branthwaite and Calvert-Lewin departing.

Bosun, a financial expert, often offers unique insights into the football transfer market and club operations. Regarding Everton’s situation, Bosun stated: “It will be interesting to see what happens with Branthwaite and Calvert-Lewin as we get into August. Time is ticking away in the transfer window, and Everton’s cash flow concerns are growing. They will be desperate to get deals done to help the club get through the autumn and winter.”

Bosun believes that the cooling transfer market will force Everton to lower their asking price for star players, with sales becoming imminent. He said, “If they can’t find buyers, the worst-case scenario for Everton will unfold, and the issues will become more apparent in the coming months. Looking at the state of their balance sheet and the amount of debt they have, it’s hard to see any other option than selling the club or selling players because they are severely restricted right now. If they suddenly decided to sell Branthwaite for £50 million, it would change our perception of their cash flow situation, but we know it’s a particularly quiet transfer market, so they could end up with a scenario where something is worth something but no one wants to buy it.”
