Sky Sports reports that 35-year-old Mats Hummels, after rejecting Bologna, is now linked with Brighton and West Ham United, although the player could also retire directly.
It is understood that Brighton are looking for a new centre-back and the experienced Hummels is an option, and they have already contacted him.
Hummels is a free agent after leaving Dortmund this summer. He has received multiple offers so far, with West Ham also among the clubs interested in signing him. However, Sky Sports stated that Hummels has not ruled out the possibility of retiring this summer.
Hummels has made a total of 508 appearances during his two spells with Borussia Dortmund and 78 appearances for the German national team, although he missed out on Euro 2024. Hummels played a key role in leading Dortmund to the Champions League final this year, but they lost 0-2 to Real Madrid at Wembley.
