Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has confirmed that striker Dominic Solanke was unavailable for the friendly against Rayo Vallecano due to an injury.
Solanke’s absence had fueled speculation that he was on the verge of a move to Tottenham Hotspur, with reports suggesting the transfer was imminent. However, Iraola has dismissed these claims.
“He had a knock on the day before the game, and we didn’t want to risk him in pre-season,” the manager said. “He might be available for the Girona game. There’s nothing serious with him, he just can’t wear his boots, but we have plenty of players to fill in, so we decided to give him a rest.”
Iraola also dismissed any links between the injury and the transfer rumors. “It’s not something I can control, but I can only tell you what I’ve seen,” he said.
